In Himachal Pradesh and other states competitive exams, “computer” is a subject matter being tested or the medium of the exam itself (computer-based test). Many exams in Himachal Pradesh and other states, including those for government jobs and academic positions, include a computer awareness or computer science component in the syllabus. Additionally, some exams are conducted as computer-based tests (CBTs).

These exams typically involve a screening test (multiple-choice questions), a subjective subject knowledge test, and an interview for Computer Science to assess candidates’ strong knowledge of computer fundamentals, software, hardware, networking, modern and emerging IT trends such as cyber safety, artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and cloud computing, programming languages (Python and C/C++), data structures, operating systems, computer networks, database management systems, algorithms, databases and software, software engineering and more.

Candidates preparing for these exams need to study computer concepts, practice with sample questions, and potentially utilize our online resources i.e. knowledgeable posts on website, online free/paid mock CBTs (computer-based test).

For CBTs, candidates should familiarize themselves with the exam interface, practice answering questions on a computer, and ensure they are comfortable with the modern online environment.
